We Survived the 2018 California Fires!
As the Cranston Fires in Idyllwild, California raged through more than 13,000 acres – threatening homes and businesses and forcing evacuation of thousands… emergency communication was more important than ever. The CASE Lexan Call Boxes installed along the highways in the area were not just ready and able to provide emergency connections then – they’re still ready for action now… even after being completely engulfed in flames.
The exterior shell protected the internal electronics from extreme high temperatures, open flame, and smoke, as well as fire-fighting chemicals used to douse the fires. CASE’s completely wireless functionality meant no damage to electrical or phone supply lines – so the phone and TTY system was ready for use by anyone returning to the area, including first responders, homeowners returning to their properties, and other evacuees traveling along the highway.
